3 Days - 130 Participants - 90 Speakers
After some struggles due to the corona pandemic, the fifth edition of the international Conference “Progress in Biogas” took place September 22nd to 24th, 2021 as an online event. In recent years, it was held as an in-person event at the University of Hohenheim, but due to travel restrictions in many countries, conducting it online allowed international participants to join the event from all over the world.
The event was opened by Ms. Thekla WALKER MdL, Minister for the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector Baden-Württemberg, Mr. Peter HAUK MdL, Minister for Food, Rural Areas and Consumer Protection Baden-Württemberg, Prof. Dr. Stephan DABBERT, Rector – University of Hohenheim and Mr. Michael KÖTTNER, from IBBK Fachgruppe Biogas GmbH. After that the three-day event started with three parallel sessions.
During the three event days, 90 scientists and practitioners took the audience of 130 participants from around the world trough the state of the art in the field of biogas. They learned about innovations since the last conference in 2017, the role of bio-economy in biogas, the challenges the industry is facing right now and the contribution of this field to the environment.
We want to thank our sponsors, cooperation partners and media partners that supported the conference and made this event possible.
IBBK’s next international conference “Progress in Biomethane Mobility” will take place October 11th-13th, 2022 as an in-person event in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany. Simultaneous translation available.
